NOTES:
"The poorhouse around Danville, Illinois was
located west of Danville on the Tilton Catlin Road in Vermilion County,
Illinois. This building was finally torn down last year and there is an
elementary school being built on this site. I only remember the main building. I
live about a mile from where the home stood. Originally the building was the
poor house, and then the county home, which I imagine they used instead of
"poorhouse". Then it evolved into a nursing home. Several years ago a
new and more modern nursing home was build east of the original home. The
Vermilion County Health Department then was housed in the old building for a
number of years. It stood vacant after that and then was eventually torn
down."
