| This is a wonderful article which makes the history of this poor farm
very real and fully human by telling the life story of a resident who
was a very gifted and generous man, William Ditmer. His story is
among the many which could dispell the common image of
"paupers" as somehow "unworthy."
The article also shows a picture of this poorhouse and tells about a
community committing itself to preserving the cemetery and honoring the
memory of those who were buried there.
