Sanpete honors forgotten souls

Memorial is dedicated to 'Poor Farm' inhabitants

This is a wonderful article which makes the history of this poor farm very real and fully human by telling the life story of a resident who was a very gifted and generous man, William Ditmer.  His story is among the many which could dispell the common image of "paupers" as somehow "unworthy."

The article also shows a picture of this poorhouse and tells about a community committing itself to preserving the cemetery and honoring the memory of those who were buried there.

We will soon be featuring this on our News Alerts and Featured Articles pages.
