Ed Gallagher, owner of Gallagher Trucking provided access for volunteers to the nearby Alms House Cemetery site.  He is shown with New Windsor Historian Glenn Marshall and volunteer Bud Lent at the cemetery cleanup on Saturday. Almost three-quarters of the area was cleared, uncovering four rows of tombstones. One-hundred forty-seven stones marked only by numbers are in the cemetery.
Volunteers included Steven Schuyler, NFA social studies teacher, student Franklin Lopez, Rich Durbin, social studies teacher, South Jr. High; Jim Wanamaker, Friends of the Old Town Cemetery; Betsy McKean, City Engineering/Archives technician; and local historian Pat Favata.  John McCormick, Old Town Cemetery Commissioner, visited the site also."
