Way back in the depression there was a poorhouse here in McLennan County. Not much is known about it. I know from finding an old phone directory at an estate sale about where it was located, which isn't far from where I live. It was in the 1800 block of Harrison Street., which is now split as a traffic interchange was built in that area, part of which is I-35.  I have had a hard time finding any information on the place outside of the old phone directory which I cannot locate any more."
