| This 1914 photograph of the Cass County poor farm shows the
superintendent's house, which also contained the inmates dining room. On the right is the paupers' house, and the jail was located behind the barn on the left. Standing in the center are Nat Jones, farm superintendent, his wife and two children, George and Ruby (now Mrs. Luther Simmons), both still residing in Linden. Another son, Marion, also of Linden, was born after this picture was taken. On the right are some of the Paupers who were living on the farm, and on the left are a few of the convicts. |
