"My gg-grandfather, Martin Anderson Smith, is said to have been in charge of "the poorhouse" in Bledsoe Co., TN a number of years before the Civil War (perhaps the 1840's or 1850's). If anyone has any info on that poorhouse or (here's a longshot!) Martin Anderson Smith, I'd enjoy knowing about it."
