PERSONAL NOTES FROM READERS:

"My Great Grandfather was the Baker at the Schuylkill County Alms house from 1860-1880. He is listed as the baker in Munsils History of Schuylkill Cty. 1881. His name was George Huntzinger which later was spelled Hunsicker. Most of the later spellings were- Huntsicker. If any one has access to the records of the Alms house I would be most grateful for some copies with his name on the pages."

"My grandfather Jacob Brown was Superintendent of the Almshouse in Schylkill Haven for many years.  The date he started is not known to me, but he was still working there when he died in 1934.  I will begin further search for information and provide when available.  Thank you so much for maintaining this site."
