I wanted to let you know that I purchased a copy of
microfilm records that I found through using [The
POORHOUSE STORY] site. It covers the Athens County
Ohio Infirmary Vol. 1-2 (1857-1911) and the Athens
County Ohio Children's home from it's start in
1882-1928.
I
have been transcribing the microfilm and placing it on
my web site for FREE complete with an every-name index
as I get it done. Obviously, I am nowhere close to
getting it done, but I work on it every day. I
wanted to let you know that you are welcome to place a
link from your web site to these pages if you are
interested in so doing. All the indexes and Volumes can
be accessed from one page in my site.
It's a transcription in progress.
I've already transcribed whatever indexes came with the
books, and a few misc. pages that I first did for my own
research. Then I started with Volume One of the Athens
County Ohio Infirmary (poorhouse). I ADD names to the
index as I find them while transcribing...and there are
plenty of names NOT in the index, I'm finding. So it
changes every few days. Hope this helps you or
