"Winnebago County, Illinois had a Poor Farm.
They buried the dead from the Poor Farm out back on the Bluff or hill.
There were records of those people who were buried, which were found
when the replacement nursing home was torn down. Fortunately someone found the
record book, and copied the information. There is a small book of the
records in the Rockford Public Library in the Local History Room. The

Rockford, IL, Phone: 815-965-6731. There is a large plaque behind
the new River Bluff Nursing home, which commemorates the lives of people who
are buried there."
