NOTES FROM READERS:
" My house is located across Illinois Route 1 from
the site of the Clark Co. poor farm. The house and barn
were still there when our house was built in l955 but had not
been used for several years. It was in the process of
being refurbished to be used as a farmhouse when we moved into
our home. I should
add that the house and barn were demolished to make way for
the Clark Co. Highway Office and Garage some years ago."
